Home School

Now I have done alot of travelling today.... travelling around to many different sites, and I am amazed at the amount of women that do "homeschooling".
It makes me wonder "what's up with home schooling"?
I personally know of one person that has home schooled her children.
Perhaps it is a difference in country's, I don't know????
Is "homeschooling" promoted in the States compared to here in Canada, I don't know? I assume that our education requirements and standards are relatively the same.

I think..... after thinking about it..... that American Women must have a heck of a lot more patience then we do here in Canada.... that's what I think :0)

Perhaps homeschooling is popular here in Canada and I just have not heard much about it. Let me know?

What do you think????

More power to ya ladies, my hat is off to you all.

  1. I live in BC and it is very flexible to do "Distributed Learning", which is not homeschooling in a legal sense. It can look very much the same, but I still accountable under a certified teacher and school to meet the province's educational standards. In exchange, I receive some funding to purchase curriculum. Some would see this as a sell-out, to invite any government control at all, but obviously I don't.

And as for the patience thing...HAH! I think that I needed to learn more of it, hence the calling!

  2. oops...tried to leave a comment, but guess my word verification must have been goes try two.

I know loads of homeschoolers in Canada. Perhaps you will begin to meet some that you weren't aware of before...they would be thankful for your prayers I am sure!

*we've been homeschooling for 11 years now...yes, all of them!

  3. Well, I can't speak for Canada but I know that a great majority of people in the US are homeschooling now. In our area it's partly because of the quality of public school/price of private school and partly because we WANT to teach them at home. It's exhausting! And wonderful. Blessings... Polly
